Considering the strength of this quake, how big was/is the tidal waves that was sent across the pacific? Small islands would have also be devistated mattering the size. Austrialia should have also been affected by a big wave.

I think there were over 50 countries that could be affected, the last ones being in SA like Chile and Peru almost a day after it started, for what Ive heard, the waves havent caused much damage in other countries it hit.

What sucks is that Japanese will suffer more aftershocks, big ones of probably over 7.0, and these things last for over a year, we had one aftershock of the 8.8 that happened last year a few weeks ago that was 7.2 or something like that.

Relatively weak for our side of the Pacific. 7-foot waves washed over Hawaii and a few coastal towns in Oregon and Washington were evaced, but nothing major, and apparently Indonesia didn't get hit at all, and they would be the buffer against Australia for something like that

Yeah, I can only explain it like sometimes you felt the whole ground was  like if you were standing on a boat on the sea for the weeks after the quake, you get used to it soon though.

Pretty sure Papua New Guinea is the buffer for Australia.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Thoughts go out to everyone affected :(
