Forums - Sony Discussion - Next Generation Portable - Standard and 3G Model Price

Why would any company give a range of $30? I call bull.

Tease.

If Sony can get it down to 250 I might just buy 2.

I still don't think that'll be enough to save the NGP.

How many bans do you have left?

Not many. Well, I just don't think the NGP will do well, despite the internet going crazy for dual analog sticks and PS3 ports. While a low price is a good thing (relatively to what they were talking, because $250 plus is far from what I find ideal for a handheld), I don't think it will be priced at that and even if it did it wouldn't make it sell really good.

Above: still the best game of the year.

WTF? NGP and 3DS at the same price? This will be a very interesting handheld gen

what's the definition of not doing well, Dreamcast? Xbox? PSP Go?

Not selling over 135 millions. My answer doesn't matter, sucess to me can mean a failure to you. And for me, sucess would be selling above the PSP, which I don't think it will.

I doubt this is true.  300 will probably be as low as it will go seeing how powerful it is with new technology as well.  As far as people doing this console war stuff, it gets annoying.  PSP did not do as well as the DS, but the PSP definitely did not fail.  It sold extremely well.  Yes the 3DS will probably sell a lot more but NGP will still do very well.  PSP's main problem was piracy.  And if this article is true i may be picking up the NGP sooner than i thot

Somthing tells me there will be a catch to the NGP's price, but if it does launch at $250, let the wars begin!!

So would 3ds selling less than the DS a failure to you?

The PSP is the 7th most popular system ever made.

The NGP, as its successor, is possibly launching at the same price $249.99 as the first psp.

Nintendo's competing product is at price parity this time rather than $100 less; and, aside from 3D it certainly offers less hardware for the same price.

Considering the enthusiasm the developers have for the NGP (for its potential for a unique handheld experience and easy of making games for it), it is certainly going to have a larger and more diverse game library than the original PSP.

There is no way, within logic or reason, the NGP would not outsell the original PSP.
