THQ throwing SpongeBob behind UDraw, will that be enough?

SpongeBob will make the Udraw 7 30.43%

Lets hope those other four titles are better 7 30.43%

The Udraw will die in 2011! 6 26.09%

Another publisher will save Udraw! 2 8.70%

Total:22

Well Game Informer recently reported that THQ has announced it will launch five new titles for the Udraw between now and March 2012, during the 2011 fiscal year. Now that would be cool enough but THQ slipped the fact that one of these titles will involve SpongeBob.

Now five titles in a fiscal year is actually more support then Nintendo themselves gave WM+ and WiiSpeak etc...etc.. now rumours have been flying that other publishers including possibly even Nintendo may consider making software for Udraw. But if they don't is SpongeBob enough to keep Udraw selling through 2011?

Sponge Bob titles on the Wii have at times reached nearly 500k, while the lowest selling title reached 150k. Could SpongeBob potentially be a killer app? Could SpongeBob shift much hardware? Or do those remaining four titles have to be very good to keep the Udraw alive? Or do you think another publisher will announce software for Udraw that will help keep the sales momentum going throughout the 2011 fiscal year?

Interesting would it be like a Drawn to life Spongebob?

When is this out in Europe i might consider it if it's getting a lot of support.

Well all that is known is that THQ plans to release five new titles by the end of the 2011 Fiscal year and that SpongeBob will be in one of them. Seeing as SpongeBob is a strong brand I bet it'll be a SpongeBob title rather then a Nickalodeon title featuring SpongeBob.

I am quite certain 2 of the titles will be Drawn to Life and Scribblenauts. Imo these will have more effect on Udraw sales than Spongebob.

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Well that would mean WarnerBros getting involved wouldn't it? Though Drawn To Life is more then possible. Do you really think it could be bigger then SpongeBob though? SpongeBob edition of Drawn to life shifted 1.2-million copies compared to just 750,000 for Drawn to Life.

Why do you assume that the uDraw needs savin"? That's a pessimistic, isn't it?

I don't think it needs much software to be successful at this point - over 5 million lifetime is already beyond all expectations and I'm sure it could manage that looking at its momentum.

uDraw will be fine and successful because of many games including the already released one's. Nintendo will get involved in my opinion with at least 1 game in 2011.
