Are you happy with the way VGC tracks Move sales ?

No. They should track total # of units sold. 53 32.92%

Yes ! Its fine. 78 48.45%

Include the real number sold in brackets ! 30 18.63%

Total:161

What do you think about it ?

It's fine, this is a controller after all, so it makes the most sense to see how many households have a Move rather than the total. And even so, we can easily figure out the total from those numbers if you absolutely must.

EDIT: Although there seems to be quite a bit of speculation in the numbers, so I don't know how much we should rely on them with regards to how they're split.

Do we actually now how many PSeyes are out there ?

And I don't now why people keep bringing the Wii remote thing up, in Move case we actually tracking the controller not the ps3 , but I'm fine with it if they keep tracking both numbers ... the units and the controllers .

This isn't really open to debate.

We are not going to be "tracking" Move since we don't track any other peripheral publically on the site. What we will be doing is offering periodic updates on Move and Kinect penetration.

How often can we expect sales numbers ?

of course...  install base is what counts.

I'm sure software developers would much rather know how many households have bought into it too.  The actual individual number of controllers sold is meaningless without the more important install base data.

I'm not sure why anyone would think or want otherwise unless its for some fanboy bragging contest?

I'd really like to see how many units it actually sold because the install base...or atleast how it is calculated seem "meh" to me...but it seems we are not offering weekly Move sales at all.

Well, both info is of interest. Certainly install base is of interest for the reasons you mentioned, but also the device is supposed to have a high profit margin so if it ever became 'big', it could be relevant to the profits of Sony's Networked Devices Division. Also it would be relevant for developers of multiplayer games as well as games that use multiple devices with one player.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I'm sure this thread wouldn't exist if the OP was happy with Move numbers.

I'm not unhappy with Move numbers....in fact, I couldn't care less for it.

Follow that method in tracking consoles and look what happens , there'd be huge differences especially for the 360 , It's only the userbase that matters after all right ? ;)

Don't get me wrong people, I'm fine with it as long as we'll get the various skus numbers.

I always thaught move will not even sell a fraction of motion plus or balance-board numbers. And after the first sales, it seems my thaughts are right.

Let's see how kinect sales will be, but even these will be lower than most expected.
