Forums - Sales - Gamasutra NPD: PSP Go, Arcade, Elite, 120GB, 250GB sales shown.

Its a pretty interesting piece. Its 5 pages and it covers

  • The relative sales of the different SKUs for Xbox 360, PS3, PSP.
  • Performance of software on each platform.
  • Change in revenue YOY.
  • Fall in attach rate for Wii against falling hardware YOY and notes the Wii accounts for most of the drop.
  • Outlook on what performance can be seen during the year.
  • More, you know you ought to read this!

I find the change in relative SKU sales interesting. The good 120GB sales imply that the shortages weren't as bad overall as claimed and the relatively higher sales of the Arcade may indicate a shift in the market for Microsoft to more of a lower end whilst lower Elite sales may indicate they have ceded some of their potential core market to Sony. If they do respond to Sony's price cut they would infact be better off cutting the price of their Elite model more substantially than the Arcade, perhaps $169/249 would be a good mix?

have we ever had psp go sales info for the US? That looks like 10k or under.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Yeah, we had this in the NPD thread. lol @ PSP Go.

Looks like 2:1 250GB:120GB PS3 allocations. Amazing how close the DS and 360 variations are.

Gamasutra estimates 6-10k for PSP Go.

I didn't know that the Elite is selling very well. I expected it to be ~30% of Xbox 360 sales.

That psp:go figure cant be right... surely?

50% arcade / elite ratio for the 360

not very surprising to me .... i have always bet on this type of ratio
the arcade low entry price is really an important weapon of the 360
(well, with the good line-up too ofc)

Core = online gamers who need HDD for online, buy Xbox Live etc. Their most profitable customers.
