Bought an iPod Touch to finally replace my long-broken MP3 player. I've been using my PSP for months, which is a pain for many reasons as an MP3 player (most notably the size of it). So I'm willing to spend $10-$15 on games for the thing to give me some stuff to do on the way to San Fransisco this Sunday for GDC, and I'm looking for suggestions. Feel free to suggest free games/apps too. Almost any genre is fun to me, although I'm a little unsure about using the touch screen for dual analogs (feel free to prove me wrong with examples of it working great if you have any).

Update: I've got NOVA, Angry Birds, Doodle Jump, Pocket God, Uniwar, Jelly Car, Lux Touch, Real Racing, FAST, and Plants vs Zombies. I've spent my budget, but I'll take free game recommendations if you have any.

That game is called Angry Birds and it is awesome. 

I recommend Angry Birds and Doodlejump. Both 59p in the UK, so probably no more than $0.99 in the USA. 

I'm not one of the people of the opinion that FFI and II have held up to the test of time. Is PvZ as good as the PC version?

Here are three simple quick games that get more play than anything on my iPhone, I assume the iPod Touch can use them (though I don't know about the online in Word Play!).

• Word Play! - It's Boggle but it has online multiplayer and you can challenge friends.  All in all, it's really good.  The only thing that bothers me about is that the people online are crazy good.
• reMovem - Quick and simple game and probably my most played game.  It's super easy to cheat it but it's still quick fun.
• Skee-Ball - decent skee ball game and a good time waster

I know Word Play! and reMovem both have demos, I don't remember if Skee-Ball does.

2. Doodle Jump (Very addictive)
3. Tetris (It's tetris!)
4. Frogger (Fun classic game)
5. iCopter (Just like the helicopter game on the computer)
6. Pocket God (Very addictive game where you are basically God killing people in various ways)
7. LightBike (Very addictive racing game where you have to trap your opponents to win)
8. Monopoly (You know)
9. Monster Pinball (Best pinball game I could find)
10. Solebon (A great solitare collection)

I've already got Pocket God. Pretty fun. How about racing. Any of those worth owning? Any of the Kart racers worth anything?

the best phone games are called poker
