Hey man, what do you think of the Xbox news today?

It had a little bit for everyone.

I could have done without the sports stuff, but I'm not a sports fan. Other than that I liked everything I saw. Of course I would have preferred games, games, and more games, but that's not what this event was about. It was a 1 hour preview meant to tell EVERYONE that this is a box they will want under their TV. Not just gamers.

I can't wait to see the 15 exclusives at E3.

Of what they showed I was most excited for the Halo TV show. But I'm a Halo nut. I'm sure sports nuts loved the EA and ESPN stuff and kids and families will go crazy for the Kinect and Skype stuff.

The only thing I was disappointed to hear is that the Xbox One won't ship with backwards compatibility. It's not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice.

While I would have loved tons of specifics, that just wasn't what this preview event was about. They showed the box, some games and features and told everyone that E3 will be huge.

Could you fix it, or give me a new link for Logo you made.

Or is it just my browser?

Ok it was just my browser. It works now, but it took quite a bit of time of me constantly refreshing.

So it was just my browsers problem after all. Thanks.

Sorry you had to deal with all that bullshit in your thread.

Thanks. I saw your post and I really appreciate your effort. Once I noticed it had became some kind of personal attack I just decided to stop responding to them.

What's unfortunate is that I've been frustrated with the community here for a while now and this is just about the straw that broke the camels back.

I'm probably going to at least be taking some time off from the forum, but I can't even say I'll come back. I've been considering rejoining the ScrewAttack forums that I used to be a member of for a long time. I'll probably lurk there a bit and try to decide what I want to do.

What I do know is that I just don't have the energy to deal with fanboys, trolls, and jerks in the frequency that VGchartz has been throwing at me lately.

With the next gen starting soon it's just going to get worse and I really hate fanboy wars. I came here for the statistics, but I think the stats breeds fanboy tension and I'm getting tired of it.

If everyone reasonable gets chased away by the bad apples this place will rot to it's core. If I do leave I'll definitely miss people like you.

    Thanks again

Really? I'm not an expert on anything really. I've been gaming for awhile so I have a lot of experience and I try to be accurate when I make statements. I've always liked to consider myself a "jack of all trades" kind of gamer. ;)

To add Halo, search Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo 2 is there.

To add Halo 4, "track" Halo 4, and then from the Tracked list in your My Games Section, select Add. A bit silly, but this method does work.

    on 13 April 2013

Hey kain, what are your thoughts on Halo Anniversary? Is it worth playing?

I'm a big fan of the original Halo and I very much enjoyed Halo Anniversary. If you haven't played the original Halo than Halo Anniversary is the version to play because it is the exact same game but better. It's not just a HD re-release. The graphics have been completely replaced with all new art assets. The music has been re-recorded with a full orchestra. It looks like a current gen game and plays exactly the same as it it did 11 years ago. It does come with the Halo Reach multiplayer and Halo CE Maps which is top notch and the campaign now has terminals with very cool Halo universe history videos.

If you own the original Halo for Xbox then I'd say you'd need to be a super fan like me to buy Halo Anniversary. But it is worth playing.

    on 09 April 2013

Hmm...I love the Halo series and Halo: CE is in my top 5. Maybe I should pick it up. I'll see if the price drops any further, since my backlog is already daunting.

    Thanks for the advice!

BTW I looked on Amazon, and Panzer Dragoon Saga sells for $420. Prices for games like these have gone up within the last 3 years or so. One day these games are going to be worth their weight in gold (assuming they weigh 200g, they would need to sell for about $6,500 to do that.

    < Michael-5 posted something on kain_kusanagi's wall:

Look how small my Dreamcast and X-Box 1 collections are. To me, that's all I'm interested in, but it's still damn worth owning the console for. Thanks for the Saturn recommendations, I think I'll like it as much as I liked other Sega Platforms. Its got its gems, gems I want to play one day. Thanks.

Okay, eBay Panzer Dragoon 1 - $45, PD2 Zwei -$60-$70, Panzer Dragoon Saga $650..... This will be a damn hard game for me to find, but you know what? Lik Chrono Trigger and Earthbound, it's expensive because it's really good, but sold poorly.

I'll get my Saturn when I find a copy of this game for below $300 complete. This is the star game of the system and it would be weird owning the system without it.

    on 25 March 2013

    Glad to help.

You might want to check Amazon for Panzer Dragoon Saga and other games. Sometimes they are cheaper at Amazon because they are being sold by people that don't want to wait for a rich sucker to pay $650. IMO Panzer Dragoon Saga's real world value is about $250-$300 in good to great condition complete. Anyone asking for $650 for anything not in it's original shrink wrap is hoping to find a sucker with too much money and no research skills.

    on 25 March 2013

Yea, it was just funny to see that's the only one on eBay. How much would you estimate a complete copy of EarthBound for SNES would run for? I often see that sell for $120 for the cartridge alone.

I may have pay $250-$300 for PDS, Sega console games have always been hard for me to find at ghetto game stores because most ghetto people don't own Sega platforms. Rich people buy Sega's, and they ask for more $$$.

I'll check on Amazing, but I'm going to try out the ROM first. Probably won't get a copy until I get a full time job, but when I get that I'm also getting copies of Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Suikoden II and Earthbound lol

    on 25 March 2013

I don't keep track of Earthbound because I've never been a fan of it. I do know it's not as rare as Panzer Dragoon Saga, but because more people know about it it's in high demand. I don't know what it's worth complete or even cart only. I keep track of Panzer Dragoon Saga because I collect all things Panzer Dragoon related and I'm always on the lookout for rare finds. Right now I'm trying to find a decent price on a copy of the PAL version to go along with my US and JAP versions. The PAL version is just as rare as the US version but harder for me to find because of the big blue wet thing between the continents.

    on 25 March 2013

Earthbound is actually pretty rare. I can't remember the exact number, but only 30,000 or so copies were ever sold in North America. I believe you told me the same figure for Panzer Dragoon. What makes Earthbound so expensive is that the game came in a larger style box with a strategy guide as part of the game. Complete, it's not a normal SNES box, but a really big one. That's why it's so expensive for a complete copy, but relatively inexpensive for the cartridge alone.

I'm not huge on Earthbound, but I've been debating to import Mother 3 for GBA and play a patched ROM. However it is expensive, and I just have too much on my TDL above it which I know I like. I'd rather import Fire Emblem: Sealed Sword for GBA, or look for rare SNES/PS1/Saturn games, which look more interesting to me (Panzer Dragoon Saga looks like a more traditional version of Drakengard, which I loved).

    on 25 March 2013

Wikipedia claims that there were 140,000 US copies of Earthbound sold in North America. But your right, I remember seeing the big box for Earthbound when it came out. At the time I was not interested at all in games like that. It was later that I got into RPG, but it still doesn't appeal to me. I remember it in a bargain bin too, but still passed on it. It wasn't until a few years after it came out that it reached cult status. Sometimes I think rare games can sometimes be overrated by those who want to make them sound better than common games. Panzer Dragoon Saga and Earthbound are classics, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

    on 25 March 2013

The Original Harvest Moon for SNES sells for over $2,000 on eBay in New condition. I don't think that's a particularly good game.

Can I ask how old you are? See I'm only 24, so the SNES was before my time. I played Chrono Trigger on a ROM in like 2003, and I loved it, but I still don't own the game. N64/PS1/Saturn were around when I was 7-12, so it's understandable how I didn't know about a lot of rare good games.

Still, I remember seeing copies of Super Mario RPG in store, I really want that game complete, it's my gateway drug into RPG's. I think out of all the games I don't own, there are only 5 hyper expensive ones that I want, but I'm in no rush to get them. SMRPG, EarthBound, Chrono Trigger, Suikoden 2, and Panzer Dragoon Saga. BTW I was interested in PDS before you, I just didn't think it was worth the investment, but if someone like you claims it's the best on the 32 bit consoles, well.... I think I might like it as much as Chrono Trigger then.

As for hyper rare games, XenoBlade will follow down that path. Already used copies sell for $100 online and it only sold something like 40,000-50,000 units in North America....

This makes me think, I should get as many copies as I can now. I'm at 4 right now (My copy, a second new copy, and 2 used but complete copies). I have Gamestop open on my phone so when a store in my area has it, I call and have them hold it. I hope it becomes a $300 plus game, then I can buy PDS and all the games I don't want but want.

    on 26 March 2013

I wasn't aware there were official North American sales numbers for Xenoblade Chronicles. Wikipedia lists it as a best seller for April 2012 along side Mass Effect 3 so it probably sold at least over 150,000. I doubt it's going to become really expensive collectible. For two reasons. First, I don't think it's as rare as some people think it is. Secondly, I think it's going to get an HD re-release on the Wii U or at least a WiiWare digital version. Either way any time there's a legal alternative it always lowers the value of the original. It happened with Radiant Silvergun and Rez. Digital distribution is killing off all but the most hardcore collectors. I preordered mine and I hope it remains valuable, but it really doesn't matter to me because I don't buy games as an investment.

I'm 32 so I've been gaming since the early days and I've been lucky enough to get some of the rarer games out there back when they were new or when they were cheap before people started collecting them. Chrono Trigger is one of my favorites. Panzer Dragoon Saga IS my favorite, but Chrono Trigger is up there too. They couldn't be more different from each other and Chrono Trigger is probably 4 times it's length, but there really isn't anything like Panzer Dragoon Saga.

    on 26 March 2013

Sorry you're right....400,000 was the number, but Xeno should get moderately expensive considering there are more gamers now and it's a hit on a successful console. Chrono Trigger isn't suppose to be rare either, but it's still expensive.

Yea I don't buy games as an investment, but when I know I can sell the game for more then I can buy it, I buy a couple extra copies.

Chrono Trigger is 4 time as long as Saga? Wow.

    on 06 March 2013

    on 06 March 2013

Cool. You can still use the pic in the link and then list the characters you have in mind.

You know what character I'd like to see in the next Smash Bros? Stanley from Donkey Kong 3. It's a great game that gets no respect and it's a part of Nintendo history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donkey_Kong_3

    on 06 March 2013

    Donkey kong country 3 right?
King K Rool and Dixie Kong have the strongest chance to make it in! No 1 else unfortunately in the series

    on 06 March 2013

I'm talking about Donkey Kong 3, not DKC3. I'm not a big fan of the DKC series, but I love the arcade originals. Stanley replaced Mario as the hero in the third Donkey Kong game. It was a very different game compared to DK1 and DKjr.

Nope, it's not my real name. My real name is Kevin Berryman http://www.kevinberryman.com/

Kain is my nickname from highschool. My friends and used to make fun of Kung Fu movies and since my name starts with a "K" I took Kain from the Kung Fu series. Kusanagi is just what I added on to my nick name when I got my first e-mail. Kain alone was taken and I looked around my room while trying to think of something and I saw the case for my copy of Ghost in the Shell. The main character is Major Motoko Kusanagi so I just took the last name and went with kain_kusanagi.
