I think it delivered on the hardware front with voice chat and 1:1 motion controls. Fanboys have been hating on the Wii using those talking points for a while. Where Nintendo failed to deliver was in the software department. One big title like Zelda, Icarus, or Punchout or any kind of surprise announcement would have done wonders for that conference.
