To me this is the most charming game ever made (and I have played MANY titles).
The think is that people for some reason (maybe it's a matter of masculinity or some grown-up point of view) are a bit so-so about the ''cartoony'' feel.
As a Zelda fanatic I love every game in the series and my favorite one (gameplay-wise) is Ocarina of Times, but due to the era it was made the graphics were a bit crude and rough.
The Wind Waker arrived like a fresh wind (pun intended) in the series. The characters and settings were so tight and unique in style! Link -at his best in my opinion- had suddently a real mind and emotions. His expressions are priceless. Artistically I think the Zelda series went sky-rocket with Wind Waker.
It was very sad that many people felt awkward and strange about the looks of the game.

Twighlight Princess, a true epic indeed, with the realistic graphics smelled too much ''Lord of the Rings'' to me. Actually, if you pause the game and see a random landscape you wouldn't be able to tell for sure it's a Zelda title (unless you have played the game). It looks more 'general', beautiful but general. It was the gameplay that made the game so interesting (which is the most important after all, don't want to be misunderstood). But looking at the TP Link in the promotional images, it doesn't 'speak' to me. I only see an illustration, not a kid with feelings and a willingness to go as fas as it gets to complete his mission. That is the biggest reason why still the Wind Waker is my most beloved Zelda game.

I don't believe after so many complains, that Nintendo will ever revisit the Wind Waker style, but trully I feel very lucky to have experience this title in the first place. THANK YOU Mr. Shigeru, I hope there's always a fairy in your bottle!
