1) If you mean the idea of an updated Wii being released, yes, Nintendo does have that option. Infact rumours already haunt the net as to when it's coming and what it will be like
2) Actually, the Wii could probably have a price cut tomorrow if Nintendo wanted. The system already sells for a profit despite coming with a game. Not only could Nintendo cut it's price, but they could even just remove Wiisports in NA and sell it seperately. Suddenly there's a 200 dollar Wii out there.
Of course, the way the Wii is selling, Nintendo has no reason to cut the price.
