I wonder had Nintendo known Wii would be this successful they would still welcome M-rated games like No More Heroes. I mean, sure, M-rated games would sell some number of consoles, but I wonder if it's worth the turning away by some really conversative group of parents and potentially negative PR. Especially Manhunt 2. At least the designer of No More Heroes seems like he knows what he's doing, and seems like he's got a good track record. I mean, Manhunt is almost exactly the opposite of Miyamoto's philosophy. Were they that desperate because of Gamecube? Then again, M-rated games didn't stop PS2 from becoming the best-selling console of all time, and seems like the negative PR is directly towards video games in general as opposed to a particular console. I suppose you can't stop the uber-worried group anway. Strangely, I'm actually thinking of getting this when it comes out. I don't really know why--I've never been into this sort of games--maybe it's all because of the hype.
the Wii is an epidemic.
