As I was an unrepentant Sega fanboy until the death of the Dreamcast (once upon a time, if you cut me, I bled Sega blue), I can only speculate but I think it's pretty obvious the N64 was their darkest hour (I had one, of course, but since you got games once every blue moon and there were giant, gaping, holes in *every* genre except various types of platformers, it was hard to really celebrate the N64 era--that said, I did (do) actually own a 64DD and loved Doshin the Giant to death).
