If that's part of Nintendo's strategy, it's fine, I'd be happy if they show the core game they promised (apart of Captain Rainbow of course =) ) What I'd like, and I think is necessary, is Nintendo support more of third party games. Like books, it'd be cool if Reggie says: "Look! You can have Action Games, Adventure Games, Terror Games, Sport games...." for the newbies to know other categories. Third parties need to know Nintendo supports this games too.

Why no love for the Cap'n? Personally, I'm still laughing at the idea of the D-listers finally getting their time to shine!
Doesn't mean I'm going to buy it, though.
Two serious points, though. First, when Nintendo said they're unveiling a game for the "core", I seriously doubt that they're aiming at the most extreme, i.e. the snobcore.
"So-called hard-core gamers, though, have reason to be excited. Marc Franklin, director of public relations at Nintendo, recently told GamePro magazine that the baseball title Super Mario Sluggers should please die-hard Nintendo-ites."
That line makes me wonder what exactly is going on in Kyoto. Mind you, I'm already quite happy with what we know is coming, so everything else is just gravy to me, but I know not everyone feels that way.
