The switch 2 editions usually cost more anyway and I'm pretty sure if you pay for the upgrade to a switch 2 edition, it works out cheaper anyway.

Not only that: with an upgrade of a Switch 1 game, you can play the games on BOTH consoles (while getting the improvements S2 brings), something one cannot do with a Switch 2 only version.
