120 million is going to be tough with the price hikes. 130 million is virtually impossible unless PS6 takes until 2030 and PS5 is still in decent stock around then and into the 2030s.
I stand by around 116 million units (Sales are going to fall hard in 2027 and 2028). Sony has only shipped 3.1 million units from January 1 through to June 30. We'll hopefully get the Q3 2026 numbers in October or November.
Sony has said they are not aggressively selling the console anymore. It's clear they want to increase the money sold on digital purchases/subscriptions per console rather than get a lot more people into the console ecosystem.
Too early to say, but I'm skeptical PS6 will crack 100 million units lifetime with the way PlayStation and the global economy/situation is going and the impacts that will be felt in the next 10 or so years.
