Some of us are just more sensitive to it than others, we've been having this 30/60 debate for decades it's not some internet trend.
I spent most of my life playing at 30fps, games with poor optimisation etc and didn't care, I sadly can't do that anymore.

I actively lower the graphics settings of my games if i'm not getting 60fps because the jutters just grate on me, I don't play with an FPS counter or anything I just know when something is smooth and when something isn't. I was playing spiderman MM on my pc the other day and swinging around at 100+ fps is pure art.
