GkC is a glorified digital download code that you can at least when servers are still  online "resell"  that stops when the servers stops.

Next step for ninty is to release their own games on a GKC and then they will anounce a digital only console..mark my words.

People will still be able to use their GKC 20 years from now for the same reason they can still play their Wii digital games that they purchased nearly 20 years ago. 

Plus many collectors don't even open boxes of the things they collect. There still would be value because scarce things have exchange value regardless of their use-value. 

It is very unlikely that the price of GKC's will be $0 twenty years from now. 

Playing digital offline only works for the primary/designated platform in most circumstances. GKC allows you to play offline on multiple devices (after installing onto them), because the card is the license. You can't do that with most platforms and digital (secondary platforms need to log in to play digitally.) 

We shall see,i highly doubt GKC will still work when servers are offline...and i highly doubt switch2 will even work in 20 years time.

GKC are worth nothing  when you cant use them anymore,you cant resell something that cant be activated.
