Microsoft has been awful since way before the Xbox, so yes for that one in general, but Microsoft Xbox wasn't historically as bad as Nintendo solely as acting as a gaming company, no. Nintendo is just vastly better at doing games than them.

Sony Playstation sure wants to be the worst gaming related company from now on, tho. The levels of disrespect and disdain are out of the charts.

There are many examples of stuff like this, yes, I think you have also read here in Brazil people post things like "pirating Nintendo is a moral duty", or joking about the ridiculous lawsuits and fan projects takedowns, because its everywhere.

The sentiment regarding Nintendo outside Japan and the USA, where they held a virtual monopoly with the NES, and nurtured the first generation of fans that would go and influence a lot other people online, creating a bubble culture around it, is very different.

Like we also have an usually better view here towards Sega than most of the world, because of how the Tectoy partnership allowed official gaming to be in reach of a lot of people outside piracy. I'm included on that one, I developed natural good will towards them, but I'm not blind either.
