I try to blend both. Nintendo's first party in 2018 was one of its weaker line-ups on Switch to me, but it still had some games on offer. I suppose I look at both my own preferences and what others thought. And yeah, people aren't exactly glowing about the first-party line-up of Switch in 2018. Yeah, it had Super Smash Bros., but that carried it hard. I know it also had Let's Go, Super Mario Party and others like Torna for XC2.
I have been disappointed in Nintendo's 2026 output so far (I've only bought some Switch 2 Editions, not new games yet) but there are still things to play.

PS5: 116 million (was 105 million, then 115 million, then 122 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)
