As I am writing this, 13 votes for Gen 7 which is 43.33% of the vote.
Gen 7 saw more or less up-ressed late Gen 6 games at the start and had The Last of Us and GTA V at the end at least before replacement when it still got games.
You also have to look at some of the consumer habits and advances.
-Very few people had HD setups at the start of the generation, but that changed by the end.
-Digital distribution of retail games and even a lot of mid or small games was not a thing in 2005 but was popular by the end
-Consoles added streaming apps
-Wi-Fi became essential for home consoles and gaming in general
-Online play was small in the console space but by the late 2000s and by 2013 it was massive.
