The Bill of materials for the PS6 was rumoured, by a reliable source, to be around $800 before the price increases. That means it should get back to that in a few years, and potentially lower. There's plenty of gamers, especially PS4 owners, still waiting for that $400 PS5 Disc Edition pricing. How much longer before it reaches $400?...

Considering the cheapest SKU of the XBSS costs 500$, asking when a PS5 is going to cost less than a Series S is totally redundant. PS5 is about twice as powerful there is no chance it will ever cost less than it. Gamers waiting for a PS5 at 400$ need to accept they will never have a retail purchased PS5, and Sony is totally OK with that. They will have to make do with older/second hand systems. Not everyone can we won over
