Looks like reports were exaggerated. I hate the amount of layoffs we've had, but this may have been a case where the studio got bigger than they needed to be. Which happened to a lot of studios during the COVID gaming boom. Hopefully this means that id will mitigate the risk of spending too much on new games and can be successful with the audience they bring in without having to set the gaming world on fire.

Same size as when they made Doom (2016). So they will survive, but the next game might take longer and be a bit of a smaller scale. Unless they outsource.

I'm personally expecting a lot more co-development amongst Bethesda's studios. MachineGames and Zenimax Online Studios even assisted with Doom (2016). Especially now that ZOS has essentially been taken off ESO. At least with major expansions.

If Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake are the 5 IPs Bethesda will be focused on going forward, co-development between the studios makes the most sense.
