A $1000 system is not going to be something they can afford. The people that can afford a $1000 system and are not into PC gaming are hardcore physical gamers. But Sony just pissed them all off so good luck getting sales from them either. |
The more than 90 million PlayStation 5 users aren't simply going to disappear and switch to other platforms that are also facing price hikes.
PS5 users will simply stick with the PS5. Once prices normalize, most will move on to the PS6. PCs lack the convenience and pricing of consoles. Nintendo doesn't have PlayStation games; it caters to a different niche.
This is all an exaggeration. Maybe Playstation fails to reach 100M, but it certainly will not do under 50M. Playstation worst moment was with PS3, and they still managed to nail +80m!!
For PlayStation to sell fewer than 50 million units, there would need to be a "catastrophe" in the gaming market—something that would likely severely affect Nintendo and PC as well.
