30million is still a lot of people and would put PS6 alongside other consoles like N64 which had a very core, memorable userbase. $1000 would drive adoption to the niche of the most dedicated or those of high disposable income. PS6 would essentially operate like a "Pro" console on steroids. It simply wouldn't be seen as an essential purchase or the future of gaming. Even Sony probably wouldn't dare release a genuine exclusive for it (unless it's a small tech demo type game).
I'm exclusively a console gamer and I simply wouldn't get it unless it was on some sort of deal for $600-700. And this is coming from someone who doesn't care massively about the digital only nature of it.
