7500 replies in the US PS Blog, seems like the last big round number for a good while.
It had more than 50000 on Twitter after a few hours.

Sony doesn't even bother to address it, the cowardly move expected from a company that doesn't care about anything else than paint a bigger $ as a target on customers.

Have any big news outlets reached to Sony to ask about it? Ask about their first party games physical sales ratio, the total amounts in the millions games like God of War and Spider Man have sold physical but now get the middle finger? I have seem articles, but where is the direct confrontation about how the actual number of customers are simply deleted from their spreadsheets? Where is actual, in the face, journalism when there is a need for it?

I'd be wary of using the Insomniac leaks as hard & complete numbers. The last official split we got was Astrobot being 55% physical in 2024 (UK), which makes me think most of their games are 70% digital since Platformers/family games are disproportionately physical sales. Bundled games with codes also count towards physical tally and I know Astro had a few of those. I suspect physical purchases are more front loaded and digital tends to make up a bigger portion later in a games life.

Ultimately I don't think it makes sense to expect an immediate responses to anything, especially as they didn't really announce how they expect to move forward. That is clearly coming at a later point. I do think we may underestimate their intention to actual provide a meaningful alternative to physical discs.
