It definitely sets a new visual standard for first party games on Switch 2 as well; huge step up from any prior Nintendo game on the platform, all of which felt like Switch 1 games on steroids.

Glad people are acknowledging this. Graphics aren't everything but its shame we couldn't get a fresh slate of ground up Switch 2 games based on the technology that wowed and said "Next Gen". It felt like something that was easily in their grasp, particularly with the gulf in specs and tech available. I just hope we get to point where Nintendo fully embraces DLSS too because the game apparently doesn't use it for any actual gameplay (only cutscenes)

Yeah while I did enjoy games like Mario Kart World, DK Bananza, Kirby Air Riders and Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, I think it's safe to say Nintendo's output has so far been visually underwhelming given what the hardware is capable of; Starfox is the first real first party showcase and it's arriving over a year into the console's life.

Hopefully things accelerate from here with the likes of the Ocarina remake and whatever else Nintendo's studios are cooking up for 2027.
