Console gamers just like Steams cheap game pricing. That's about it. They hoped the new Steam machine would follow that good guy look Steams held for a long time and be a cheap system that could play cheap games, but that's not how it turned out. Competition is good most of the time.
The majority doesn't want PS to fail as a whole. They want them to fail at the things they don't like so they'll try something new and better or go back to doing what they know works.
PS1 - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.
PS2 - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.
PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
