I went to see it last week-end. I thought it was good. Not great. It had heart. It looked good visually. I thought the story it tells was good and heartfelt. Even though it’s not the usual “save the world” type of storytelling people usually expect from superhero movies, I thought looking inward Kara traumas and angst as a late teenager/young adult who lost everything was a nice change of pace for this genre. But I was already aware of what to expect from the comics from which it is adapted.,
Milly Alcock carried the movie quite exceptionally well, being in almost every scenes of it. I know it’s the current trend on social media to hate on everything and everyone, but I think people are being all kinds of unfair and cynical about it for reasons that elude me. I went in with an open-mind, kinda knowing what to expect (based on my knowledge of the Woman of Tomorrow comics) and came out feeling it was a good ride. Not the best comic book movie, but far from being among the worst like the naysayers are claiming.
I’d rate it between a 3.5 and 4 out of 5. Will buy on 4K Bluray when it comes out.
