I'm not sure I fully agree about that, but regardless: Energy and equipment don't come out of nowhere. Yes, you pay for them with money, but they need to be produced too, and that production has some environmental cost as well. It might not be a net win to handle all that water better if you consider the production chain as well (or it might be - I don't know).

I can't come up with anything better. Normally I would say we blow up AI data centers, but apparently blowing up buildings belonging to rich scumbags is terrorism.

We're running out of legal ways to fight back against AI. -_-

You could always start a political movement or perhaps find an existing one, if there is one. I think that's kind of the go-to solution for a lot of things, but I'm sure it requires a lot of dedication and time as well. As a somewhat more lightweight alternative, you could try to raise awareness and influence people online, but it can go only so far. Either way, you probably need to properly group up with people to really make an impact - and if you can't find enough people to support your cause, you're not likely to make much impact, but it's a big thing, so I think that's only natural. It's still a legal way and the primary way in democratic countries, and one that might still be underexplored.
