You see, I understand the thought process, but also the developers at Rare of today are not the same of yesteryear (nor is the industry anything like what it used to be). If any acquisition were to occur, I’d want it to be over IP rights— if any company (other than Rare) should have ownership over legacy IP such as Banjo and Conker, it should be Nintendo, not Microsoft. Just my two cents.

Banjo is certainly a very missed IP although DKB did a fantastic job of filling the void for an alternative to 3D Mario in the same way Banjo did, Conker however is the one where the is no real alternative to it's oddly unique as it leans more into being an adventure title that utilized the 3D platformer template the game doesn't even have a central mechanic like other games in the genre.

With the state Rare is in, Microsoft might as well sell them to Nintendo for cheap.
