I don't see why Pokemon is relevant in this discussion, its not Pokemon's fault that Sony has built an ecosystem where people mostly only care about Fortnite, CoD, EA Sports as well as AAA cinematic games.

Look at how poor quality something like Pokemon games are, compared to other titles today. Yet it sells millions and millions.
Quality of a product doesn't equal sales.... it usually does have a impact on sales though.

There are gameplay and story elements that are subpar as well.... its in all sense of the case, mid or below mid games. However people love Pokemon, grew up watching the shows as kids... and now collect the Cards as a way of investment (more so than even play with them). Its like a pyramid scheme... betting on the future success of the IP (cards) and a investment thingy.
If not managed well, it could all fall apart, and your left with cards you paid tons for, that are actually worth next to nothing. |
