Currently the contract prices of DDR5 are around $21/GB, while GDDR6 is $11.63/GB. So that's helpful for home consoles. $699 would probably be losing Sony $150+ per console at this point though. Which isn't unheard of but I'm not sure they'd go for that.

For comparison DDR5 was about $3.33/GB a little over a year ago lol.

I would be surprised if they went for it, as in very surprised.  I still think $800, but maybe they take a loss and jack up PSN?  Anything seems possible at this point.  I never would have guessed my 3-year-old PC would increase in value.
