It will be interesting to see the official player counts because the last game hit 10m players in one week. It seems the lack of Xbox One version really killed the Xbox numbers, despite Steam exhibiting insane growth. 

FH5 released 9th of November and Turn 10 announced "10m the first week" on the 19th. It also released in November and not in May which probably pushes sales as well. 

So yes, no XBO version obviously kills sales but FH6 still looks really strong especially because it still has time and released in May.
