Based on this assumption, it’s unlikely that the console will ever reach 160 million units. I expect it to peak at 158 million units. Here’s a breakdown of the sales projections: - Year 11: 1.33 million units - Year 12: 0.4655 million units - Year 13: 0.1629 million units - Year 14: 0.057 million units Even though the console will be on the market for a year longer than Sony’s best selling console, it will still fall short by nearly 2 million units. |
There are many of you who say that. But remember, Switch 2 was not in the market for the first half of 2025 so it still sold a lot back then. The best comparison on Switch's year-over-year performance will be in July 2026 onwards. Switch sold 251,728 that time. Do you think Switch will sell only 88,105 in July to justify your 65% year-over-year drop narrative? Suppose that it falls to 50%, that is 126,000. But January-April data showed otherwise because it consistently sold 180,000-190,000.
