There’s been a significant drop of 65% year-over-year. At this rate, they’ll only sell around 1.3 million to 1.5 million units in 2027, bringing the total to 157.4 million.
Based on this assumption, it’s unlikely that the console will ever reach 160 million units. I expect it to peak at 158 million units.
Here’s a breakdown of the sales projections:
- Year 11: 1.33 million units
- Year 12: 0.4655 million units
- Year 13: 0.1629 million units
- Year 14: 0.057 million units
Even though the console will be on the market for a year longer than Sony’s best selling console, it will still fall short by nearly 2 million units.
