The art style will not hurt the game. Of those people who are interested in a remake of a 90s rail shooter, (which is primarily those who grew up with it and have nostalgia for it) the number who would pass over this will not be significant. Starfox back in the day attempted realism from the get-go with the live action puppets used in the first game's box art, manual, and promotion, or 64's realistic-for-the-time graphics. It's not a big deal. |
But it would be jarring for new, younger players, like 8-12, seeing the expressive Fox from the Mario Galaxy Movie and then going to a Star Fox where everybody practically looks like the MCU version of Rocket Raccoon.
