It's a thing but neither of them cracked even the top 10 for Switch sellers, whereas during the Wii era those types of games completed dominated the top sellers.

There also isn't really any big evolution from the Wii Sports/Wii Fit (now Ring Fit), like even since the days of the Wii, the next big thing was supposed to be Wii Music, and that never really took off in a huge way and it sort of felt like after that Nintendo struggled to come up with any kind of big new motion control idea.

The bar for top 10 is higher on Switch than on Wii; if Switch Sports was on Wii is would be #8, ahead of the likes of Wii Party, Just Dance 3, (the best selling JD) or Smash Bros Brawl.

It would also be behind Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, so it declined from there whereas other Nintendo IP like Zelda and Animal Crossing and even Mario Party have skyrocketed since the Wii era. Like I don't think anyone looks at that gen (PS4/XB1/Switch) and considers Switch Sports one of the generation defining games, whereas with the Wii/PS3/360 era ... of course Wii Sports and Wii Fit were the big notable games, probably really those two and Call of Duty (X360) and GTA were the main titles of that gen.
