There are many types, it's true. Those who are only interested in WiiWare, those who are only interested in Virtual Console, those who are interested in both in varying degrees... I just don't see any advantage in sacrificing support of one or both when they're profitable. They only stand to make more money by releasing more titles, why are they holding back?

My guess is that they're less concerned with making more money in total, and more in individually squeezing each game for as much as they can. Perhaps they're doing this to lure in more third parties: "see, X game has made Y amount. Games are really profitable on our system. So make games for us."

Keep in mind I don't completely buy my own hypothesis here, but it's the only thing I can think of that would explain the "one of each" schedule, especially since the Nintendo Channel makes a point of focusing on whichever VC and WiiWare game released that week.
