Ghost of Yotei. I was constantly amazed by the scenery (much of the time the views are like looking at a painting), and everything else about the game was either great or good too. It's not a perfect game by any means, but I don't think the game really has any notable lows.
It's a close win against Astro Bot though. Astro Bot overall is probably more fun, but some of the more difficult stuff doesn't fit in in an otherwise easy game in my opinion, and especially some of those challenges were quite annoying to complete. Essentially consistency is what gives Ghost of Yotei the edge over Astro Bot in my books.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a worthy contender, kind of, but in a typical Insomniac fashion it just falls short of greatness. Insomniac creates some very good games, but none of the ones I've played have quite been top-tier games in my opinion. Rift Apart is no exception. I'm not sure there's even anything in particular I can point out to be lacking, but it's lacking something to reach greatness. One thing I can say though is that achievement design (I played the game on PC) and game design don't go at all well together, because there isn't quite enough content to upgrade all your weapons by the time you're done with your second playthough, and starting a third walkthrough just to upgrade those last few weapons feels a bit much.
The rest I don't care about, don't care about enough to play them, or would be really surprised if I found them better than the games I've mentioned, so I feel like I can safely ignore them. |
Yotei is fantastic, are you playing the Legends mode? I have over 20hours on it already lol.
I loved the harder levels on Astro Bot, tho.
I loved that the Dart bot (from LoD) was in a challenge instead and I had to work for it, watching him being taken away so I could save it was cool lol.
