Well here in Norway AI must have started decades ago. Electricity is very expensive here and has been for a long time. But seriously, sure its unfair that regular people have to pay more for electricity when companies like Google and Microsofts data centers uses a lot of it, but thats not really AIs fault. Thats how its always been. Someone uses a lot of something, then others have to pay for it. Thats for the government and the people at Google and MS to figure out.

So art is meaningless slop if its not made by people? I mean if you cant tell the difference.....then whats the difference? Then again if you can tell the difference and the AI art is slop, then its not really a problem.

These new data centers exist to service AI; if AI was not a thing it wouldn't be happening and things like RAM would still be affordable.

And yes, if it is not made by people, then is meaningless slop and it is not "art". Art is human expression.

If not AI, then it would be something else. We use more electricity now then we did 10 years ago. And we used more electricity then than 10 years before. Its just the way it goes.

Art is in the eye of the beholder. I would rather watch AI slop than a banana taped to a wall.

Anyway...I of course see yours and other peoples concerns about different aspects of AI. Im just not that worried about it. New technology often comes at a cost, but Im not convinced that AI is the big bad guy some people make it out to be. I think it can be very beneficial to the medical and other important fields.
