AI data centers drive up utility costs and waste water and electricity: https://blog.carnegieinvest.com/data-centers-are-driving-up-utility-bills-but-is-that-fair The propagation of AI content devalues real art by flooding online platforms with meaningless slop and burying genuine human expression. |
Well here in Norway AI must have started decades ago. Electricity is very expensive here and has been for a long time. But seriously, sure its unfair that regular people have to pay more for electricity when companies like Google and Microsofts data centers uses a lot of it, but thats not really AIs fault. Thats how its always been. Someone uses a lot of something, then others have to pay for it. Thats for the government and the people at Google and MS to figure out.
So art is meaningless slop if its not made by people? I mean if you cant tell the difference.....then whats the difference? Then again if you can tell the difference and the AI art is slop, then its not really a problem.
