Wipeout HD deserves a mention as a stellar sendoff for the series; such a shame it didn't continue though.
The Forza Horizon games were also fun.
| Leynos said: Cruis'n Blast. Takes me back to the best era of racing games when arcade games ruled supreme. Also were not afraid to be over the top. Now everything is too serious and focused on graphics to the point of being boring. Some have become like Madden. Same game as last year but a slightly different roster. I also like Horizon Chase Turbo and Hot Shots Racing. Former is a nod to Top Gear of the 16-Bit era and the latter is a love letter to SEGA Arcade Model 2 games. |
Seconding these, I've always preferred racers that are more stylized and accessible, realistic sim-style racers like Gran Turismo or the mainline Forza Motorsport titles bore me.
