They both have a lot of things that suck. Keep in mind, I haven't used either of them.
Switch Lite is handheld-only. They never released a special dock or cord to let it connect to a TV. It also drifts for a lot of people and then you have to send the whole system out for repair.
Xbox Series S has no way to play physical games or physical media. There's no optional add-on like Sony allows for the Slim Digital or PS5 Pro. No physical media no matter what. It has the same library as Series X but a lot of games are heavily compromised. I know Switch 2 is a newer product, but in docked mode some Switch 2 games like similar and sometimes better around the edges than Series S (like Street Fighter 6).
All in all, Switch Lite is narrowly better.
