[Weekly Software & Hardware Sales] "Resident Evil Requiem," which has sold over 5 million copies worldwide, starts off at the top of the charts! The latest "Shutoko Battle" title and the remastered version of "Tales of Berseria" also make the list [February 23rd - March 1st]

Famitsu's sales rankings. This time, we bring you a summary of estimated weekly sales figures for game software and hardware from February 23 to March 1, 2026 in Japan.

The ninth numbered title in the popular survival horror series Resident Evil has been released. This is the latest installment, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary on March 2026 and has received high praise both domestically and internationally since its release. In Japan the PlayStation 5 version ranked first with the Nintendo Switch 2 version ranked second. It's a strong start.

Resident Evil Requiem has already surpassed 5 million copies sold worldwide, achieving this milestone in less than a week since its release. High praise from both within Japan and overseas has contributed to sales growth.

Coming in third place is the racing game Tokyo Xtreme Racer, which is set on a circuit that recreates an actual expressway in Tokyo. This is the first game released for a PlayStation console in about 22 years and it has been well-received by many fans, selling 17,669 units.

Coming in at number 6 is Tales of Berseria Remastered, a brushed-up version of the RPG released on Playstation 3 in 2016. It adds convenient features unique to the remastered version such as the ability to display destination icons and turn off enemy encounters, and also includes over 70 types of downloadable content, which has also been well-received.
