I'm 50/50 on this.

On one side I'm excited a remake of God of War 1/2/3 is coming though I know it will be really changed compared to the original.

I dont think it'll be as violent or revealing as the original which I guess is whatever but the lack of any info for Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta which I both enjoyed makes me sad that these two games will likely be skipped.

What I do hope is the gameplay is improved especially with GoW1 Hades section, climbing back up section is awkward.

First, yeah, the PSP games are being skipped, it's only the main trilogy.

Second, those games were not developed by Santa Monica, but by Ready at Dawn, so it's very clear Santa Monica wants to redo their own developed games, they want to improve upon their own work.

Thrid, Ascension was also developed by Santa Monica, so why is it missing? My opinion is that the Trilogy Remake is actually one single full game, not a collection of 3 remakes. Ascension had a different gameplay style because Kratos only had the Blades of Chaos until God of War 1 started, so it has mechanics to hold enemies, pick up and throw weapons, and even enemies that felt different to the usual consistency of the 3 mainline numbered games.

So, IMO, letting it out makes the trilogy a very consistent package, that can be reproduced as one single continuous game (always has been a personal dream of mine). It does have a problem of the 2 PSP games taking place between 1 and 2, so they will need to work it out by having a time leap from when Kratos becomes the God of War to when Zeus comes to kill him, exactly like the story was when the games were first released and no other complimentary games existed yet, only 1 and 2.
