Price aside, I don't think the market is ready for it anyway.

Focus on a portable which soft launches some of PS6 features

2026 feels like what 2018 was for the PS4. Things are finally well oiled and quality, anticipated software is flooding in. 2028 should be the earliest they'd consider releasing.

Dunno if SNY would be willing or even could, but moving the handheld up to holiday 2026 or holiday 2027 at the latest would be a way to keep PS5 momentum going. Launch it as just a PS5 model if they have to. See how it sells. They can always make another for PS6 at some point next gen.

The later in the gen they launch the handheld, the more capable it could be for that gen. Possibly cheaper as well. Launching it later in the gen might not be a bad idea instead of launching it right at the start of the gen. Both approaches would have positives and negatives.

Yeah, thats actually my thinking. Scaling down the handheld a bit so it's just a native PS5 device with some PS6 features to help with upscaling, OS etc.

Then releasing a PS6 version some years later (2 years after PS6 launches). I doubt they'll be any PS6 exclusives for a few years anyway
