Having sex with multiple women, and also drinking, was a part of what Kratos did to try to forget his nightmares and blame.

There is even a cutscene very early on 1, that after it is not working he screams mad at Athena and she uses it to ask him to finally go kill Ares.

On God of War 3 the scene with Afrodite is actually her using it to trade information with Kratos, she uses him because she was lusting for men, by that point Kratos is already not even wanting to do it, he is fully focused on revenge.

They cannot take away it from the games, that is part of his character development later on. The minigame itself being removed, not the scenes and when they happen, well it's fine, it's not like the minigame has anything to do with it, even as I would not ask for anything to be removed at all.

I'm already seeing some people asking Kratos is less brutal in some scenes, and what the F is going on with people? Kratos becoming a monster is a major part of his redemption on 3 ending and his hard work to prevent Atreus becomes like him on 4 and 5, and his full acceptance in Valhalla, that even while he was a monster and became the God of War, he also did care a lot for his family and his brother in arms too.

Santa Monica rewriting him to be tamer would be a disservice to the series, the character and the games already out.

Firstly on the sex stuff. What you're talking about is story telling. The scenes don't need to pan out 1:1 to convey him being a sexual hedonist. They can keep it explicit without necessary showing it in the same way.

As for the violence, I think them taming it down (My reference is GOW3) is very likely simply as a reflection of more modern graphical presentation. I still expect it to be gruesome, but more an 8 on the scale if the original was a 10.

None of this would equate to a disservice imo. You don't need to see The Boys level of gore in order to understand Kratos is violent. I think people should just chill a bit in the anticipation of things being toned down and just wait to see whether what is delivered actually works and does service to the characters and story.

Edit: And tbh scratch everything I just said because we really don't know anything about this or the ambition behind it. I will just wait until we actually have something to judge/talk about.
