Honestly I'm not sure how I feel.

I don't like the idea of this team being wasted on revisiting the old games. It could be a complete reimagining though, essentially a soft reboot but with the same core story arcs.

It could also just be a new lick of paint and not as ambitious as we think (Oblivion remake).

Feel like this sort of thing should of been planned a while ago and outsourced. A shame Bluepoint were wasted on a live service GOW game when they could of probably just done a new original single player game (also in the GOW franchise). I think that's probably what Sony actually intended for the 20th anniversary (live service game)

God of War 1 in special deserved to get the modern game treatment, 2 as well, but less.

It'll be nice to have those important games being available now that diminishing returns are in full effect, so most of the franchise, as in, all of the "numbered" titles (in-house sequels to 1, so 2018 being 4, and Ragnarok being 5) are now mostly in the same quality level, and gaming won't advance that much visually in 2045 as it did from 2005 to 2025, so keeping those games consistent and "modern" for a long, long time.
