The Switch 2 is double the price and is bulkier than the Switch Lite.
We can move that goal post around all day.

You want the better device with better hardware? You ironically need to pay for it, who would have thought?

And the Switch 2 is a waaaaaaaaaay better device than the Switch 1 Lite, a full generation ahead easily of the Switch Lite, the ROG Ally X can run games moderately better than the Switch 2 but is no where near a generational uplift while needing to be much bulkier and having a smaller screen for more than double the cost. No detachable Joycons either.

At $1000 it's a niche, niche device, if that's where you have to go to get better than Switch 2 performance in a still bulkier form factor, than Nintendo delivered good hardware bang for their buck.

The Switch 1 Lite would be more like a Playstation 1 in your analogy, the Switch 2 being a PS2, and the ROG Ally X being an original XBox (2001), but it would be if the XBox cost $1000 while the PS2 was $450.

And the ROG Ally X has a game library of over 200,000+ games. (With 120,000 games being Steam alone) which is a vastly larger games library than the Switch 1+Switch 2. (11,000+320)

The Rog Ally X can run games (especially older titles) better than the Switch 2. (Think Crysis) and at 60fps thanks to it's vastly superior CPU.

Like I said, you get what you pay for.
The ROG Ally X has a CPU that is a generation ahead of the Switch 2.
The Rog Ally X has significantly more RAM for better textures.

At $1000 you get more value due to the sheer scale of it's game library spanning 9x console generations with better performance and graphics.
...And evenb ignoring that the ROG Ally X is often on sale for $799 anyway.

This is fun. Lets keep playing the goal post shifting game.

Just remember your argument was:
1) Switch 2 is cheaper than the ROG Ally X. - But the Switch Lite is cheaper than the Switch 2. - So either price matters or it doesn't?

2) Switch 2 is a sleeker device than the ROG Ally X. - But the Switch Lite is smaller, thinner and sleeker than the Switch 2. - So does size and form factor matter or not?

If your argument applies to one device,  it can apply to other options as well.

Remember the Switch Lite has a longer battery life as well.

Also remember the Switch Lite can also play 98% of the games of the Switch 2.
Also remember the Switch Lite's LCD display exhibits less ghosting and input lag than the Switch 2. It's functionally a better display.
