I disagree. Good art is good art regardless of when you experience it. I enjoyed watching The Godfather even though I wasn't alive when it came out. Same thing goes for when I played Super Mario Bros. It really doesn't matter how new or old a game is if it is a new experience to you. If I discovered a game like Balatro and did not know if launched years ago or just the day before it would not make any difference to my enjoyment of it. |
Have you never experienced the same piece of art two times and had different reactions?
How we experience art, or anything else, is an interaction between the art and our internal world. Many factors influence our experience and for some, it being new, or it being something everyone is talking about, or being among the first to learn the game's in and outs may make the experience better.
